When names such as Mount Florence, Rest Hill, and the Beeches, the hills overlooking Peekskill and the Hudson were home to magnificent properties described as the "grandest estate in Westchester," the "first scientific farm in America," and the collection of plantings second only to that of the Smithsonian. Also marked by scandal, adultery, and humbug, little has been written about these homes of the wealthy in 1800s Peekskill. Join local historian and lecturer Kirk Moldoff to learn more about these historical estates.
