Event Details

Author and Kindergarten teacher Jyoti Rajan Gopal shares the magic of saris, clothing from South Asia that has remained virtually unchanged for thousands of years. She'll read from her latest picture book MY PAATI'S SARIS, a story about a little boy who loves his grandma's saris. MY PAATI'S SARIS is a New York Public Library Best Books of 2022, A Bank Street Best Books of 2022 and a School and Library Journal Best Books of 2022. It was shortlisted for the prestigious Neev Literary Award in India.

Reading will be followed by a sari-wearing demonstration (attendees can also volunteer to be draped!) and a book signing.  This program is open to all ages.
