Nature brings Beauty to every Time and Season
Art is life. We paint, draw, and sculpt the things that are important to us. My focus has always been the beauty of nature, whether I am drawing the human figure or painting animals and landscapes. I work in a variety of styles. Most of my work is figurative, but I also paint abstractly. Regardless of the style, the rules of composition remain the same.
I also recognize that creating art can be therapeutic. My work is always positive and bright; I paint only what I love. Everyone observes the world differently. My previous art shows focused on animals and fantasy. This show focuses on the four seasons, with an eclectic mix of landscapes, still lifes, animals, and abstracts.
Born in north Yonkers, I've been a resident of Hastings for 44 years. I received a BS in art education from SUNY Buffalo and an MA in secondary art education from New York University. After graduation, I taught art in Thornwood Elementary School for three years, Westlake High School for four years and in the Hastings after-school program for two years, as well as private lessons for elementary school students and workshops at the Hastings library. In addition to 12 one-woman art shows, I have exhibited in many other shows, including Audubon’s Seasons at Lenoir, the Long Beach Island, NJ Foundation for the Arts and Sciences, winning four Blue Ribbons and at the Pine Shores Art Association, winning first prize.
